December 2024 Dispatch

Happy Holidays from all of us here at Africa’s Sportsman. These winter months (in the U.S.) generally mean a down time in Africa for our outfitters as they roll into the blazing heat of summer and the safaris wind down.

At least that’s the theory. In truth, the winter months are just as busy for everyone across the pond, many traveling to the states for the big shows — SHOT, SCI and DSC — to recruit new clients and keep the brand name recognition going.

It is no different for our crews at ASM, many who you will be seeing this next year at those big shows. Stop by and say hello and pick up a copy of ASM.

Our staff have already been hard at work attending many events across South Africa, including the recent African Wildlife Economy Colloquium where the future of hunting and fishing in Africa was discussed in great detail.

We all continue to face an uphill battle to protect our hunting and fishing rights and preserve the pastimes we all enjoy, but for a moment at least, let us enjoy our holidays with family and remember to be ever thankful for the people in our lives.

Speaking of people, we hope you enjoy this Africa’s Sportsman Dispatch and take the time to get to know the people who make each safari possible. It’s a truly humbling experience.

Thanksgiving just passed for us here in the states and I have to say it is my favorite holiday, as my midsection can attest.

Alabama safari hunter Roger Patterson has lost track of how many times he’s been to Africa.
